Everyone in our team is weird.

No, it’s true. We believe in 2026, one of the biggest skills you can have is weird and unique thinking. So only the weirdest make it through to be a part of Studio Ru.

Our talented freelance community, it allows us to flex up and down on your project easily. We only like to work with the best, so you may find your Studio Ru designers is in Canada, your VFX artist is working from Brighton and your AI video creator is sat in Dubai.

A few stories along the way:
🌸 Shot a 5am spoof video in the desert that helped Volkswagen go viral (2014)
🌸 Wrote a series of mental health films featuring Davina McCall, Judi Love and Roman Kemp (2022)
🌸 Directed one of Coca-Cola’s first “anti–social media” campaigns in the Middle East (2015)
🌸 Launched Refinery29’s first IGTV with Annie Mac via BBC Radio One (2019)
🌸 Got a bunch of cats to take over the Channel 4 adverts on Xmas Day before “Mog” played out.
🌸 Created Channel 4’s first branded AI advert (2025)

All of it led me to a new obsession: using AI to make high-quality storytelling accessible, not just to brands with huge budgets, but to anyone with a story worth telling.

Studio Ru’s Founder: Casey Bird

I’ve always been told i’m weird. But now, i’m proud. I’m a brand storyteller with 16 years in the advertising world, across four countries, countless briefs and campaigns for brands like Google, Adidas, Samsung and Channel 4. I’ve written for TV, social, cinema and radio, and had a ridiculous amount of fun doing it.

That’s why I built Studio Ru.
A new way of creating.
A little wild, a little magical, and made for the brands who want to stand out.
